Honest conversions

A file is never “converted” by renaming it. Each converter decodes your file and writes a new one, then checks that the result really is the format it says. When a conversion loses something — transparency, animation, layout or formulas — the tool tells you before you start.

Audio and video

Audio and video conversion (for example MP4 to MP3 or MOV to MP4) is not available on TextVix yet. It needs a much larger processing engine than the rest of the site, and we won’t list it until it works reliably.

Questions about converters

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes, for most image, PDF, document and spreadsheet conversions. Each file is converted separately, failures are reported per file, and you can download everything as one ZIP.

Why isn’t PDF to Excel or PowerPoint here?

Rebuilding tables or slides from a PDF needs layout analysis TextVix doesn’t do in the browser. Rather than offer a poor imitation, those conversions aren’t listed.
